As a member of the student athlete advisory committee (SAAC) I have had the opportunity to participate in projects that foster community outreach, building connections, and supporting others. Beyond this I have participated in multiple other service and community building projects with my basketball team. Take a look at a few of my favorite projects that I have participated in below!
A Glance at Community Building…
Special Olympics- For this event, my team and I had an amazing opportunity to bond and play basketball with some Special Olympic athletes from our area!
Food Drive- The SAAC organizes a food drive every year, where each team collects cans and donates them to a place in need. This year we had a combined total of 1,182 items!
Wreaths Across America – In this event my basketball team and I participated in a day of service by laying wreaths on the graves of veterans.
